if they can grade posters why not treasury editions?

Also the posters are not encapsulated the way comics are. They do not go into a "slab". Instead, they are encapsulated between two archival plastic sheets (more or less a "sealed envelope". Picture a large Mylar bag sealed all around. Not a good environment for a Treasury Edition.

Sounds like there’s an opening for a treasury edition grading company.

Seems like the bigger hole in the market is a grading company that...

...gives the same grade to the same book across different graders and across different grading submissions.

...gets your books back to you in 6-8 weeks.

...labels encapsulated books correctly.

...doesn't include foreign objects like hair, plastic shards, etc. in the holder along with encapsulated books.

...doesn't encapsulate books in damaged holders.

...doesn't encapsulate books upside down.

...doesn't damage books entrusted to their care.

...allows customers to track their submissions online through the entire process of submission/cleaning/pressing/grading/encapsulation/imaging and return shipping.

...charges a flat rate for their services based on book size, not book value.

One could have a monopoly in no time if they were able to accomplish these things.

Sell 'em raw, then you don't have to worry about these silly pipe dreams (thumbsu

After reading that laundry list above you I am starting to see the appeal in collecting raws.  Now here we are hoping our book returns safe in a timely manner is a pipe dream from a grading company. What happened?
