Hey all. Just today received the comics back I sent in for the Perez signing. I sent in 8, two of which I opted for other signings. The other 6 I just asked to me returned to me. Five of these there CGC graded already. What I received back though was all 6 were no longer encased or graded. Anybody else experience this? I tried to call them and leave a message but their message system is broken. I have emailed them about this but I am pretty frustrated so I thought I would ask the board what to do. If this happened to others, did this get resolved in some way?

The Perez signing was cancelled after the deadline for submitting books because of his failing health. Based on your experience I think it is obvious that most or all of the books received in slabs had been removed from their slabs by the time the signing was cancelled.

You will need to get through to customer service to find out what they plan - if anything - to do about this situation of books be cracked out slabs in preparation for a signing that never took place. I can see both sides of the debate of if CGC is responsible.  If you had gone to a show with your CGC graded books cracked out for a signature - and the artist or celebrity had to cancel at the last moment then you should not expect the show promoter or the celebrity guest to reslab your books. But then this was arranged as a CGC in house event and they are the ones that cracked the slabs.  Either way, Perez's failing health was the real reason for the signing not taking place.

I suggest calling and waiting on hold until you get through. Or wait a couple of weeks for whatever is driving the jam up in customer service to pass. Or maybe even write a letter and sending it old fashion snail mail.  What I finally did with some accounting issues - sent a letter.

@jones554Which option(s) did you select for the return of your items?

If you only selected option 3, then they did exactly as you asked.  But if you specified Option 3 for some and Option 4 for others, then it was likely just an oversight.  Remember people are human and make mistakes.

there's a specific "ASK CGC" subforum here on the boards.  If calling and email haven't been helpful, I'd go there.

Additionally, CGC has social media, hit them up through facebook, instagram, maybe even linked in.  Try DM first, but post PUBLICLY if they don't respond. I WOULD PRESS HARD on this issue.

Thanks everyone for responding. They did respond asking me to send them back. I think it will be ok. Of course they just charged me 240 for the Jim Starlin and Marv Wolfman signatures even though they should only be 150. I feel for them but it seems like every error they make is in their favor at this point.
