What’s going on with CGC’! 2 2

Cracked open an ASM 252 cgc grade was 9.6.

Pressed and cleaned by CCS and it comes back a 9.2

I think time for a break until they get it together

You gambled on pressing and lost. This isn't on CGC.

Were there graders notes? Do you know why it was a 9.6?

A lot of people think that a CPR is this magical process. Here is a very common scenario I run across all the time.

Customer sends in a book with pressable defects.

I look up when the book was graded or ask if it was done at a show (if they know). 

Book was graded during a loose period.

Customer still wants to roll the dice. 

Book gets pressed and defects are removed.

Book comes back same grade or lower. 

Over the years grading consistency has always been an issue, and a CPR does not always mean a guaranteed bump on a book. You need to know everything about the book before you attempt an upgrade.

Those 2nd Gen labels are usually a red flag for a CPR

Been CONSISTENTLY sending in books on a monthly basis for 3 years now and just within the last 3-4 months grades on modern 80's and 90's books and are ON AVERAGE 0.2-0.6 lower than the previous two years...maybe just me but seems  a few others are noticing this as well..undergrading is just as disheartening as overgrading

Just keep churning them. Eventually CGC will hit another loose period.

CCS/CGC pressing a comic, then having it come back with a lower grade than the initial unpressed grade???  Say it isn't so!!!!
