CAF is a place I’ve gone for years to share some of my art and take in the cool art shared by other members. How seriously do you guys take it when you leave a comment? Sometimes more is less and less is more. I get a kick out of some of the things people write. My favorite post of late came from Felix who wrote simply (Worthy.)

As many of you have probably seen there’s a thread out there that has exhaustively explored a CAF members reasons for commenting so many times on member galleries.

So this thread is here to say.....

Marcus rocks!!!

Comments are most likely appreciated by most members who post art. How do you guys use the comment section?

I watch Bill Cox's DD and weekly update shows and Marcus comments heavily on both in the live chats. Does anyone know why he is not on here?

I believe we should all pick out a date, and on that date we should all change our profile pictures to the Muscle Man on CAF and post a nice comment on at least 10 pieces we enjoy

I like his comments. He always points out factual things with each piece sometimes things I don't even see with my own art!

Agreed.  He's got a great eye for the finer details and makes me feel like an amateur sometimes!

I think it's also worth remembering he used to (maybe still does?) write descriptions for Albert Moy's auctions/website.

While all the board drama was going on yesterday, I was actually meeting Marcus for an art exchange. He was on his way to visit a lonely senior and wish him a happy birthday. Replete with balloons, gifts, and a cake. Proving to me, once again, just what a sweetheart Marcus is.

And I might have continued to believe that...if it wasn't for Herbie/Race.

Now, I know the truth: It was all a ruse. No one is THAT nice; there's always an ulterior motive! Clearly, Marcus is trying to shoehorn his way into a will. And maybe help himself to a bowl of hard candies when the old duffer had his back turned. How could I have been so blind!!

For that matter, someone needs to run a toxicology test on that cake!

To our venerated elder in the photo...I hope you're OK. To Marcus...you should be ashamed of yourself. To SPAM a lonely old man with gifts and cake is actually elder ABUSE! To Herbie/Race...thank you. Thank you for opening my eyes. Also, thank you on behalf of all the wackjobs in this hobby. They are not alone and they now have someone to look up to.

And a happy birthday to Lance.

I have on good authority that that OP's post in that vile thread which started out with nastiness and hatred had more flagged reports by more members than any in the history of these CGC forums

Excellent!  I get that some boardies want to remain anonymous for valid reasons, and don't act like jerks, but this Race/Herbie species of low life didn't come here to talk about art . . . he just wanted to disparage another collector, empowered by the (mistaken) belief that he could be as outrageous as he wanted, with no accountability.  If people want to be contentious, they should at least man up, own their opinions by ID-ing themselves and not hide behind the shield of anonymity.
