Hi CGC, 

Will CGC be able to grade modern video games in steelbook cases?

If so, will they need to have the disc/cartridge shipped inside to qualify as sealed?  Sealed steelbooks often include an O-Ring slipcase - should they be submitted inside the slipcase?

If the manufacturer included the steelbook separately from the regular sealed game, can the contents be transferred over to the steelbook for a CIB grade?

For anything to be considered Sealed, it would have to be completely sealed. Slipcases have to be on the steel book, if it originally came that way. If not, it would be qualified as missing component.

As for the last question, No the contents transferred to the steal book would not be eligible for grading as it would then be considered a game without its original box as the separate steel book would be a separate component to the original game packaging.

Thanks for the reply - as a followup, what are the maximum dimensions that can be submitted as some games come sealed with extras like artbooks/cards.

Currently we are not posting the maximum dimensions of the encapsulations. This is because there are many things that we currently will not grade. We do not want customers to assume we will grade their game if it fits in one of our slabs. Types of games that would be referred to as Big Box (such as your example), we do not grade at this time.
