Matt1982
Appreciate all your expertise! Toward the bottom of all the pics is a shot of the cover where I tried to show you a crease. I honestly think that’s in the original paper, but I’ll leave it to the experts to decide what to do with it. Thanks again! Nilo2
I’d say 8-8.5 assuming no resto is present. Tiny corner crease in upper right corner of front cover may keep this from going higher. In any case, a gorgeous copy. Congrats! Matt1982
scburdet
8.5±0.5. The little corner crease is determinative, but I've seen a few 9.0s with something like that Matt1982
Galen130
@Matt1982 In the photo below…is that the crease you’re talking about? If not, what is that? Edited November 3, 2022 by Galen130 Matt1982

Jaylam
A sharp looking book, 8.5-9.0. Looks like the only defects are along the top edge and right upper corner of the front cover. If the flaw running through Daredevil's uh...er, crotch is deemed a production flaw in the paper (printer's crease) your good, if they decide it's a post-production handling crease you might take a big hit on the grade. If not, what is that? Yes, that’s what I was talking about. My presser thinks it’s a production issue - that it’s actually some kind of fold/crease that’s native to the paper itself. But obviously it’s hard to say. It doesn’t break color but also didn’t come out with the press. Galen130

Looks like a production crease, which shouldn't affect the grade. 8.5, maybe a shot at 9.0 Matt1982
shadroch
I can see it getting a 9.0, but am more comfortable calling it an 8.5. A very nice copy of a book I think has a huge upside. Matt1982
ROBTOTHEC
I am at a definite 8.5! Nice copy. Yes, that is a printers crease and usually does nothing to the grade. Matt1982
Popular Post Matt1982
You guys were, again, spot on! I have to admit I was really hoping for that 9.0, but I can’t argue with this. MrRoboto, WilliamLunt, scburdet and 2 others 4
Jaylam
Are they calling that printers crease a “light scratch center front cover”?
