Mac321st
I recently purchased a 9.8 TMNT Last Ronin and, when it arrived, I noticed immediate differences from anormal graded/slabbed book. The case appears to sealed only at the corners, the size of the case is larger than normal comic book casings, the font indicating the grade/bar code/ and book description is different, the sticker on the top of the case is on the outside vs inside the case on other graded comics, and the paper with all that data on it at the top is perforated on all sides and isn't flushed with the case. I took it to a local comic book shop and the owner said that is an older style of CGC magazine case but from what he saw everything checked out. I ran the barcode number through CGC and it comes back to the correct book but I'm still hesitant. Any input would be appreciated, Paul © ® ⚽️💙™
Lazyboy
Congratulations on not being familiar with CGC's Magazine cases. [/thread] Paul © ® ⚽️💙™
Paul © ® ⚽️💙™
I would be hesitant if I were you (OP) about starting threads and declaring 'a scam' before doing some research. Your slab is kosher, end of story. thehumantorch
Lightning55
A good rule of thumb is if the comic is under $500, it's not worth the time and effort for someone to counterfeit it. And usually they would substitute a low grade copy, very detectable. Every week someone claims "my somewhat common comic looks bogus".

KCOComics
I feel like similar questions to this have been popping up a lot recently. Does CGC have a link that shows how their cases have evolved?
Lightning55
If you Google "CGC case evolution", it will return several sites and topics. There may be more iterations than are documented, especially regarding magazine size.
