Action Comics #4 from 1938

 

Comic presents well.  I'd say it presents like a 3.5 (from the front) and the front cover image is especially nice.

 

-Everything is attached at the staples.

 

-The Spine has archival tape along the full length mending a split.

 

-Front/Back Cover & the 1st Wrap are married.  1st wrap has some tape.  Everything else in the interior is from one comic.  Centerfold is present and attached.  The are small tears & creases consistent with paper of this age.

 

-PLEASE READ THIS NEXT PART CAREFULLY....

When I first found this comic it was missing the back cover.  After doing some research I found that Action 4 shares the exact same "exterior" back cover with DC's More Fun Comics 35 and I was lucky enough to find a copy of that back cover.  However, the inside image of that back cover is different than Action 4.  So I painstakingly removed the image.... found a scan of the correct inside image of Action 4, and I printed it onto the inside of the More Fun 35 back cover to create an Action 4 back cover (see last photo).  (So the inside back cover is "recreated")

 

It's a lot to take in so if you have any questions please ask

 

If graded, I would say it would get a 1.0 - 1.5 Purple restored label with "extensive" restoration.  (BUT..... It visually "presents" nicely)

X-Men 1 - Raw complete - Married 12th page 1.0 - (1.5?)

Super low grade, but.... it's Xmen 1.

It has a married 12th page and it has a tiny bit of archival tape on some tears, so I believe it would either get a conserved label or a Green "qualified" label because of the married page.

- cover is detached at top staple.  Staining and tears which you can see in my photos.  Staples show some rust which has slightly spread to the interior pages.  1" tear at the top goes thru the entire comic.  CF has detached but is present.
