Twenty years of letters to Spiderman. 0

The Parker Family had lived in Forest Hills for a few years when they started recieving letters addressed to Spider-Man.  At first they didn't understand why, but then someone told them Spidey's alter-ego was Peter Parker.  Then they discovered that someone at Marvel had drawn an envelope in a Spidey comic that had Peter's home address on it, and it was their house. 

Letters came from all over the world, mostly fan letters but some beseeched Spidey's help.  The Parkers recently sold the house and are donating the letters to a group that is hoping to make them available for public display. 

Was this a complete coincidence or did someone google Parker, Forest Hills and the address popped up and they ran with it.

By coincidence, the Parkers longtime neighbors are the Osborne Family.

A local sculptor  in Forest Hills wanted to 1) rename the corner by the house Lee Place and Ditko Ave and 2) install a lifesize Spidey perched above the light pole.  It would only be a honorary name change. NYC has hundreds of them.   The City was okay with it, but Disney shot it down, without explanation.

This would have been awesome.  If Disney can't make $ on it, then no dice.  Great thought though!
