Got this e-mail but I'm not moving to Dallas. I like it here in Florida to much.

I would appreciate it if you would please forward this opportunity to

any candidate that you think would be appropriate for the following

position in our Comics department. Also, feel free to send their name

and contact information to me and I will contact them.

Heritage is looking to add a Comics expert with extremely well-honed

grading skills. The ability to identify, pursue and close outright

purchases and consignments in the Comics market is essential to this

position. Individual will be expected to sort raw and graded books

and create auction lots based on designated lot values. The right

candidate should also have strong organizational skills and deep

knowledge and contacts within the comics industry. Salary and

incentive package commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Excellent benefits and working conditions. This is a career position.

Please e-mail your resume, references and salary history/requirements

to Jared Green at mailto:JaredG@HeritageGalleries.com.

Kind thanks,

Jared Green

Can't imagine anyone would make too much money with that position.

If I'm gonna work in the comic industry someday, i'll be my own boss at my own lcs.

But, that'll be after I retire from other things ..... if I ever get a real job devil.gif

That would have to be a well paid position. Just think how sick you would feel if you yourself closed a deal that landed Heritage $100k in profit in 3 weeks, while you make less than say 40k in a year.

27_laughing.gif That's funny. I bring in over $1m of gross revenue for my company every year--guess what? It keeps the people that are "overhead" employed. But if I fall beneath the level of tolerance---and you can see someone sharpening the knives and looking my way.

BTW: my stuff arrived. Thanks!

I still find it uncomfortable that an major comics auction house is busy buying collections and listing them on their site...

Jim,

We are often at odds, but you're right on there. sumo.gif

You know what I mean though. Sometimes when you buy a collection the only reason you got it is because of who you are. The person selling likes you so they sell to you.
