Should I press Batman #181?

Would this benefit from a clean and a press? Or should I just keep it as it is?

The graders notes are as follow:

  • Gloss loss back cover
  • Ink stain left centre of back cover
  • Reattached with tape bottom staple
  • Store stamp right centre of front cover
  • Swipe marks front cover
  • Tanning interior cover
  • Moderate creasing to cover

The third point is one that I assume is the biggest issue here?

Ink stain?

Reattached?

Tape?

I doubt if any of that is going to come out with a clean and press, and frankly, I think a 4.0 is a generous Universal grade to stamp onto that list of defects in the first place.

I think chances are greater than 50% that the grade goes down, rather than up, when regraded, even after a clean and press.

But then, that's just me trying to sound smart by regurgitating what I've read here from people who actually know what they're doing, in the interest of giving you a rapid response.  I trust them to correct me if needed.

That's a pretty book - that red really pops!

I would leave it as-is, especially because of this:

  • Reattached with tape bottom staple

I have a really nicely presenting (in my opinion) 3.0 copy, but when I saw this in the grader notes:

  • Detached centerfold
  • Large split left bottom of spine

I thought, best to leave it alone and just enjoy it. Here's mine:

There's nothing that would be improve with a clean and press. Solid looking VG, I'd leave it as is!

Thanks very much, guys :x
