I bought a super mario bros 1. Comic from Florida and it had a slight indentation that could only be seen in the light and up close. Few days ago I found 4 more at a show for $45 a piece. They all had the same indentation. I did some research to and it is very common with this book. Can this be reported or is this something cgc decides on there own. Pics are of one's I found online.

That flaw has been on all of the copies I’ve had in inventory or viewed.  Cgc is aware of this particular flaw as it’s quite distinct and obvious even under average lighting.

So does it count against the grade, if they know it's a common defect? It's not color breaking. Maybe just depends on who grades it.

Regardless of book CGC has not been consistent with applying manufacturing defects. I’ve brought multiple copies to market in 9.8 grade.  Professional pressing can minimize the flaw.

It should only keep it from the 9.9/10 range.
