Census search not finding certain titles 0

I tried to do a census search for Black Panther #1 from 1998 (Marvel) and the search did not return that particular series.  It did return other Black Panther series from other years.  So, I tried Amazing Spider-Man #1 from 1998 and that also failed to return the 1998 series.  I was able to pull up an ASM issue from the original series published just prior to the new series starting.

Using a cert # from an existing graded copy I was able to back-door into the census for the series/issue I couldn't find through the search function. 

Am I doing something wrong, is there a glitch in the system or something else?

I'm guessing the problem is that the issue number is listed as "v2 #1" and not just "1".

This is correct. When looking up specific books in our system, you must be sure to use the appropriate issue number. In this case like many others there is a v2/v3 in front of the normal issue number. If this is not input correctly into the census lookup tool, the system is unable to find the book you are looking for. I am sorry for the confusion this has caused.
