Pressing Question for Comic with Kool-Aid Insert
1 1

2 posts in this topic

Hello,

I have many comics with various inserts.  One of the most unique is a packet of Kool-Aid.  What process is used to press these type of comics?  I imagine normal pressing methods would crease the books, since many of these inserts are not flat.  Wouldn't removing the inserts classify these books as 'incomplete'?

Hello @Grimjack60,

Thank you for your question! Unfortunately, our pressing process is proprietary and can not be shared. We can say that books with inserts are reviewed individually for their candidacy for pressing. These Kool-Aid insert books specifically have been sent through our pressing processes previously but if our graders and CCS experts determine the book would be damaged by pressing, your book will be denied from the service and a credit will be added to your account for the pressing fees.

If these books were manufactured with these inserts and they are removed, the book would receive an incomplete/qualified grade noting the missing insert on the label. Let us know if you have any other questions.
