BA773
What's the longest following of issues you have in your collection? And second question: what's the longest run you "WANT" to collect a day?

godzilla43
Uncanny x-men 94-390 after that just some keys and variants. I should start reading those one day. I have only read like issues 94-166. Edited May 16, 2023 by godzilla43 Larryw7, BA773 and mec3437
Popular Post Buzzetta
AF15/ASM 1 to 925+ No other runs of any note. I’m not counting a five issue mini series or something that I might still have. What do I “want”? Really no interest in collecting lengthy runs. The iPad and a subscription are available if I want to read a run without needing to dedicate the resources of money and space. Dr. Balls
The longest run IN my collection isn't very long at all. But, Back in the mid-90s, I had X-Men 1-300. Considering I lived in a small town in Montana, this was a huge challenge for me to find back issues. But then in my travels on the internet superhighway ($3 for every hour of browsing at 28.8k download speed) I found the comic book bulletin boards, and was able to finish it up in a few months over mail order. It was pretty awesome, but like most things - sold it to fund something else. I miss that run. lostboys
If we are only counting actual comics and not omnibuses: ASM 194-400 Uncanny X Men 170-300 Walking Dead 1-193 Spawn 1-100 Savage Dragon 1-110 Maxx 1-35 Not a run but I do have every book related to Marvel Zombies...probably close to 100 total. mec3437 and BA773
evilskip
I HAD the entire Justice League of America run (1-261, Annuals 1-3 and Brave & Bold 28-30) at one point. But I got sick and had to sell the early issues to keep a roof over our heads decades ago. Still have a lot of the issues from 94 and up. Popular Post Robot Man
The only long run I have collected is MAD #1-500. My first one was #72 off the newstand. Bought it ever since because I liked to read it. I actually started to really search out and collect after I bought my first copy. Other than ECs and PCH as well as pretty short run GA titles, I’m not a long run collector. I just don’t have the money, patience or the room to store a long run like Batman, Spider-Man ect. Luckily, I was lucky enough to buy a lot of GA when it was a LOT more affordable than it is now. Popular Post OtherEric
Not sure if it counts, since it jumps from title to title over the years. But I've got every Legion of Super Heroes issue from Adventure Comics #247 to now. Chaz G., BA773, Readcomix and 9 others

Popular Post thehumantorch
Fantastic Four. Started in the mid 1970s buying back issues when I could find them. New issues off the stands. I started a pull file that I cleared for over 30 years and outlasted 5 LCSs. Finally gave up my pull file when I realized new FFs were awful and a far cry from the original characters. I have 7 short boxes in a closet. Browns81, Tec-Tac-Toe, Larryw7 and 4 others
Robot Man
Long runs can become a real burden. Also where do you draw the line? Take Spider-Man or Batman. Do you just stick with the original title? Detective has over 1,000 issues. Do you also go after the Batman title? Spin-offs and all books that feature the character? Variants? Could be an off the hook compulsion. I prefer to “spread the love” buying a lot of different books and characters. Pick out my favorites and call it a day. I love ALL genres. Nice to be able to enjoy different stuff once in a while. This hobby has SO much to offer. BA773 and Sandflea
comicginger1789
My ASM run is currently at 50-400 completed. I would love to get that from 1-400 but I acknowledge that to do so I am going to have to stumble upon an undiscovered collection or finally commit to selling other stuff within my collection to get there. I am not at the point yet because every time I think of the 100 or so books I would need to sell to afford ASM #1, I end up feeling sadder about losing 100 solid books than I am about the feeling of acquiring one single ASM issue. mec3437, Larryw7 and BA773
