Seeing at the beginning of a sales thread "US ONLY"

I get there is a little more work involved but all Canadian boardies do the same work while shipping books to the US so c'mon guys do the little bit of extra work required and increase your sales.

Agree 100%. I know they have lost easy sales to me when I see that.  I get I can have it shipped to an American friend, but I won’t do that.  Can you imagine how ridiculous that would sound if we asked an American to do that?  Oh well, it has certain saved me some $$

USPS shipping to the U.K. was getting pricey enough 10 years ago when I quit, so I’m reluctant to ask about the charges now. Sure they’d be rather off-putting.

They're ridiculous.  But it hasn't stopped my buyers from the UK, who as a consequence of the added cost tend to buy large numbers of books, at least some of which are hard to find.

I have added Canada/world to most of my - very rare - sales threads.

But really the cost is prohibitive. Then there is the “Oh I am sure you can send it cheaper’

Points to please consider : The book is my responsibility until it is in your hands. I can not ‘cut down on packaging” and I won’t call you a ‘cousin’ or lie about value on the customs form.

Books subject to opening and inspection by customs that are repackaged poorly or damaged on inspection, increase my liability. 

It also usually involves multiple trips to the PO to get shipping quote , then back again when the charge is paid.

That being said it is mostly positive sending out of country. I just shrug when I get a PM “I would have bought it if the shipping weren’t so much’ That needs to taken up with USPS, not me
