Dormitory Women  by R. V. Cassill   Lion Books No. 216   July 1954     $20

Another scarce Lion Books PBO.    A notorious title with a classic GGA cover that remains uncredited.

Very Good/Very Good plus. Looks better but has a split at the top back spine, not visible from the front. Spine is still tight and solid. Pages slightly uneven. Otherwise looks nice with no hard creases and wear is mostly around the edges.

Going to a couple more nice high grade science fiction titles for a minute...

The Beast That Shouted Love at the Heart Of The World by Harlan Ellison   Avon V2300     1st Printing July 1969       $40

Cover art by Leo and Diane Dillon. A very tough Ellison 1st PB to get in this high a grade.

Very Fine Minus/Very Fine.  Bright whites are a standout, super square, fresh, with white pages. Covers have a few finger bends and a pressure mark on the back cover, light surface wear but this is a new looking book.

Might want to check to see what’s available and what’s already gone…

I was looking at the recap, but I understand it's hard to keep it up to date.  I should have said "take if still available" :)

Well, this lady is available ... for a price :shy:

Valerie by Jordan Park (Sci Fi writer Cyril M. Kornbluth)    Lion Books 176   PBO     1953    $50

Another tough Lion title to find in nice shape and sporting one of my favorite Bob Maguire covers. From the High Grade collection

Fine Plus.  Square and tight, sharp corners, has some age wear, very little handling wear to speak of. Some crackling of the cover gloss and a bit of rubbing to the edges near the spine. Thumb bend with a small fleck on the back edge.

The Mistress by H.C. Branner   Signet 1056    1st PB, 1st Printing   October 1953    $20

Early Signet Robert Maguire GGA cover in exceptionally nice shape. A beautiful combination of colors and composition.

Fine Plus/Very Fine Minus. Glossy and unread. Has only traces of wear, including a small, light crease on the back cover and a small dot of paper on cover from another book that can probably be expertly  removed. Pages are off white and inner covers are bright. Tough to find Signets looking like this.

The Fire Goddess by Sax Rohmer   Gold Medal 283.      PBO  First Print December 1952      $25  SOLD to mstrange

The second Sumuru novel.  The artist who painted this glorious Good Girl remains uncredited however it is certainly in the style of, if not by, Barye Phillips.

Fine/Fine Plus. Solid square with nice spine, glossy bold covers. Hairline reader crease and a few touches of wear. A pretty thing.

Kiss The Night Away by C. G. Lumbard. Popular Library 640    February 1955       $12

Nice nipple GGA cover by Raymond Johnson from the period at Popular when they had 2nd paintings done for the back cover. This 2nd is a great clinch!

Fine/Fine Plus. Square and solid, pages tight and off white. Spine has bindery chips at both endds and has a few light creases on the covers. An attractive copy.

All That Love Allows by Paul Darcy Boles. Popular Library 691    September 1955       $12

A dreamy GGA cover confection by pulp master Rafael DeSoto on this Pop. Another one with a great 2nd painting done for the back cover.

Fine. Square and solid, pages tight and the book looks unread or lightly read, but downgraded for edgewear and some light cover fading and soiling, most visible in the whites.

The Private Life Of Helen Of Troy by John Erskine   Popular Library 147     1948       $50  SOLD per PM to mstrange

Classic Rudolph Belarski Nipple cover. A cornerstone book, one of the most famous and reprinted covers in the hobby.

Fine Plus. Square and tight, covers are smooth and uncreased, colors are bright. There's some fade to the spine, a few finger bends and light edgewear but overall a very nice looking copy of a classic.
