Last Book for tonight.

The Cave Girl by Edgar Rice Burroughs    Ace 09283      Undated probably 1973 or 1974     $25

You need Savage Pellucidar 1st PB Edition, this "Tall" edition and "Luana" to have all three editions of this image but you do need them all to have the complete Luana set :canofworms::)

Very Fine/Very Fine Plus. A spectacular fresh glossy copy with virtually no wear. She's purty.

Absolutely, but to be focused, I was just talking about vintage pb's :) He got good mileage out of that basic image!

My favorite version of the woman with the animal minions by Frazetta is the half sheet of Luana.

I wasn't able to get a #19 before prices went insane.  I'm just lucky to have my low grade 17 and 18, at least.

I had a few and remember thinking I totally overpaid at auction for my last Venus #19 and COC #19. Hard to believe Venus #19 was way more expensive than COC #19 back then. Times changed.

Worlds Of Weird Selected by Leo Margulies     Jove Books A4826     September 1978      $60

2nd appearance of Margaret Brundage's iconic "Batwoman" cover in wraps after the October 1933 original.  If CGC ever grades vintage pb's :takeit:

An important 1970's pb. Virgil Finlay interiors.

Very Fine. Tiny crack line in spine that must be factory as this copy is unread with only the lightest edgewear and surface wear.

Curiously, this is the third printing.  The first two had a new Finlay cover.

I got confused and picked up both this and the 1st at the same time down at KAYO book last year.  I've made worse mistakes. :nyah:

Yep.  I saw it once around 30 years ago.  It's pretty rough, I watched it MST3K style with a few friends, joking around about it along the way.  As I recall, Alan Dean Foster's novelization was considerably better.

There's another collection that's just called "Weird Tales" where they did the same thing, new Finlay cover on the 1st two printings and Batwoman on the 3rd.  But they changed the background from Brown to Green on that one.  I don't have a copy of that one, need to get one.

This is the first print with the Batwoman cover though. Finlay is awesome and popular but this being the 2nd appearance is pretty appealing for anyone without 10K for a 1st.

I knew that one was pricey but not that pricey. Thanks in part to the late Robert Weinberg I got my copy in VF-ish for the then princely sum of $140.00…

Sweet. I think a nice one sold around that level at Windy City this year. I am happy to have a couple of his Planets.

I am going to go back and clean everything up tomorrow and send invoices. Super appreciate all the support for these cool little paper rectangles. Every single thing left is 40% off until tomorrow noon due to the overall volume y'all raised and my lack of desire to relist them on feebay.
