What Comic Forums, Conventions, Stores, Sellers, etc Have Banned You And Why? {SERIOUS}

So what are your war stories. I've literally only been banned by one forum, and it's the John Byrne forum. I hadn't been there long (I was signed up under a false name, which passed muster, as I wasn't willing to have some of the opinions stated on there linked with me in a professional capacity should any employer be googling) and I'd already received PM's from concerned members telling me what I mustn't do to upset Byrne. 

Somebody asked a question: 'Are there any fans here who are fans of John's earlier work over his more recent material?' and straight away people acted appalled at such a thing. The Byrne of the past was such a savage, he basically drew with sticks in the jungle. How could one not prefer the refined current Byrne. Then Byrne himself comes on, and says that there is no true fan of his who likes his older work. I wasn't having the theatrics so I straight out said (paraphrasing) "Hi Mr Byrne, huge pleasure to 'meet' you. I do happen to prefer your older work. To be honest it just speaks to me in a way that your current work just doesn't quite manage to do I'm sorry. And please don't take that as an insult, I mean no disrespect." 

Which got a reply from him" I bet you liked my X-Men run with Chris."

Queue me " Yes sir, I love that run. Along with Lee/Kirby FF, Those two runs are my essential comics, the greatest of the great."

BANNED. Mocked by remaining victims and Byrne for what a double-tipped wanker I was for thinking it was subjective to like his old work over his never, when it is in fact objective that his new work is better. Then they all laughed and made jokes at my expense for pages.

When James Joyce or Hemingway sat down to write a tale or two, I think God Himself stopped what he was doing for a moment to look down and take in the history that was about to be made. I get the feeling that could possibly happen with this thread.

@Ryan. and I had a run in with the man-child Joe Linsner, that eventually blew up in to a full-fledged crazy ranting temper tantrum of epic proportions that I may discuss should I get time and if this thread gets some legs.

I'm a fan of Byrne's pre 1988 work, and super fan of 1977-1980 so consider being banned an honor as it's forum for the highest echelon of sycophant losers.
 

As for me, was banned from a somewhat well known in certain circles, Mastering Engineer's music forum, for mentioning i did not see what the big deal was about "The Monkees".

When I was in 4th grade both myself and a buddy also my age were banned from the local Friendly chain restaurant. I've no remembrance of exactly why but I suspect we were making "Big Beef" jokes. My buddy told his connected Dad, who told us he would take care of it "his way". 2 days later went back no issues.  Man I've probably not thought about that in the last 25 years.

I thought the Byrne Fantastic Four run was supposed to be great? I bought it years ago l to read but never got around to it. Why would he not appreciate fans of the early work?

Not in any particular orde, but I was banned from Aruba, told to stay out of Fort Lauderdale, and trespassed from the grounds of the Wayside  Home School for Girls. 

Persona non-grata in a few small casinos that weren't worth camouflaging our plays.

I was verbally told, "Don't come back for the rest of the season!!", as my friends and I were ushered out of Yankee Stadium back in April of 1999. 

 

Friend and I went back the next month. (shrug)

I was banned from that "other" grading companies forums years back. They had just screwed up my 4th consecutive submission along with many others at the same time and we got really vocal about it. I believe 4 members who had all been there since the beginning got the perma-ban within a few days. Fun times.

When I was about 17, I used to go to a small comic shop down an alley near Tottenham Court Road. I went there regularly, and always left my bag at the counter which was the owner's - a proper misery guts - policy to stop people nicking things. One day I decided to sell all my Doctor Who memorabilia so I could buy some clothes to look half decent (that's another story). He bought the lot and paid me a pittance. About enough for a jumper. The next week, I went back to see if the latest Doctor Who Bulletin was in. It was always in the same place, just in the doorway, so I just stuck my head in to see if it was there. He promptly banned me, ordered me out and said "You never leave your bag". It may have been a case of mistaken identity, but I had the presence of mind to call him a tosser, reminding him that he'd only just ripped me off the previous week.

Anyway, they knocked it down in the end. With a bit of luck he was still in there.
