After he told me he gave the Hulk 181 to his Nephew he told me he had just installed a new Air conditioner that cost $6000 and that's the reason he was selling the collection.  I told him the Hulk 181 could have most likely paid for the Air conditioner... he looked down and seemed pretty bummed.  When he looked back up he said, "My nephew doesn't get any more of these comics!"

there is a youtuber named lunch money comics. he came across a hulk 181 and that owner didn't know its value either. I mean I guess if you bought a long time ago and stopped, you really wouldn't. Prices were so different then.

He knew it was a special comic, but didn't realize how special.  If the condition was like the Hulk 180 I bought it was $6000 to $7000 value

I asked him if he cut out any MVSs.  He said no.  I believe him cuz he would have been about 30 in the mid 70s (would a 30 year old be cutting MVSs?).

I on the other hand was about 12 years old at the time and cut out about 100 MVSs out of my comics

I could see that happening in the past, but damn...my father is 80 years old and he uses Google all the time.

nice pickup! just curious if you used overstreet to let him know how you came up with your prices, or some other way. i've only bought one collection before and used a combination of gpa and overstreet...

I brought the current overstreet with me and that's all I used.

The seller told me he took many boxes of the comics to a Flea market to sell in the early 1990s.  Some of the comics still had his prices on the bag.  These two he had at $,75c. When he got back from the Flea market he put the comics in his basement and they've been there ever since.

In the 1st Longbox I've gone thru, I've found 2 signed comics.  The guy told me he went to a lot of comic conventions in the 80s & 90s.

He never told me he had some of his comics signed.  What a cool bonus for me.  I'm going to have to check every single splash page.

Here's a Wrightson sig on a Swamp Thing, and a June Brigman sig on Power Pack 1.
