Jfend72
I plan to clean and press.  Thanks in advance.  The last pic attached is the first silver age appearance of Jimmy Woo 😊
marvelmaniac
Slight corner wear with some color loss and small color breaking creases, slight edge wear with some color loss, color breaking scratch from the outer edge through Mordo's head, a few/small color breaking spine ticks, rusty staples, slight denting on upper edge of rear cover, minor wrinkling/foxing on rear cover outer edge, minor dust/sun shadow on rear cover by spine. The book has no major defects other than the scratch and staples, IMO, this book would grade at a FN/VF 7.0, however, mostly due to the staples being rusty which there is no mention of until GD/VG 3.0...IMO, the book grades at a FN 6.0 GD/VG 3.0 - Staples may be rusted or replaced. VG 4.0 -  Staples may be discolored. VG/FN 5.0 to FN 6.0 -  Staples may show minor discoloration. FN/VF 7.0 - NM- 9.2 - Staples may show some discoloration.  7.0 FINE/VERY FINE (FN/VF):  Back to Top An above-average copy that shows minor wear but is still relatively flat and clean with outstanding eye appeal. A small accumulation of minor bindery/printing defects is allowed. Minor cover wear beginning to show, possibly including minor creases. Corners may be blunted. Inks are generally bright with a moderate reduction in reflectivity. Stamped or inked arrival dates may be present. Minor foxing. The slightest spine roll may be present, as well as a possible moderate color break. Staples may show some discoloration. Slight staple tears and a small accumulation of light stress lines may be present. Slight rust migration. Paper is cream to tan. Centerfold is mostly secure. Minor interior tears at the margin may be present. 6.5 FINE+ (FN+):  Back to Top Fits the criteria for Fine but with an additional virtue or small accumulation of virtues that improves the book's appearance by a perceptible amount. 6.0 FINE (FN):  Back to Top An above-average copy that shows minor wear but is still relatively flat and clean with no significant creasing or other serious defects. Some accumulation of minor bindery/printing defects is allowed. Minor cover wear apparent, with minor to moderate creases. Inks show a significant reduction in reflectivity. Blunted corners are more common, as is minor staining, soiling, discoloration, and/or foxing. Stamped or inked arrival dates may be present. A minor spine roll is allowed. There can also be a 1/4" spine split or severe color break. Staples may show minor discoloration. Minor staple tears and a few slight stress lines may be present, as well as minor rust migration. Paper is tan to brown and fairly supple with no signs of brittleness. Minor interior tears at the margin may be present. Centerfold may be loose.
scburdet
Not sure my bad eyes (or obsolete laptop screen) see the rusty staples, nevertheless, the CGC book says 6.0-9.6 is the acceptable range for some staple rust. I would expect the rusty staples not to factor in too much here given the other little imperfections. 6.5/7.
Jfend72
Thank you both for grading my comic.  Damn shadows on this book, short of daylight I always have problems with using a light source.  I took pictures again of the staples and I think it was the shadow of the book, where the staples rest in the recess of the spine.  Here you can see that they look normal, at least to my eye.  The picture still looks a little dull, but I didn’t see any rust
redgar-red
Wow -- this is a nice book. Guess I am still the optimist. I don't know if this has been pressed and cleaned. There are some things on it that make me suspect it has... At this point I would be at a 7.5 or 8.0 (after another press and clean). The back cover is where attention needs to be made -- look at your 9th pic above.... the shining spot looks like someone did some light cleaning. That needs to be softened a bit. I see a color break crease on front cover across Mordo's head -- it's curious because it is at 90 degree to right cover. Most creases are corners (Captain Obvious -- I know), just wondering if this is a printing / production error. Love the color!
