At the beginning of every New Year, CAF celebrate the best collected works of the prior year, with the annual Best Of competition.
Even though the submission process doesn't begin until January 3rd 2024 your artwork must be submitted to your CAF Gallery in 2023 in order to participate in the Best of 2023. It can be in any Gallery Room in your CAF Gallery, but it must be added to CAF before midnight EST this Sunday, December 31st. So get your art posted before New Years!
 
When the Best Of 2023 selections start you will choose from any of the pieces in your CAF that you uploaded during 2023. Best of selections will start January 7th at the latest, where you will choose your entries from existing artwork in your CAF Gallery. On that day we'll announce instructions for how to do this.
 
Best of 2023 Timeline:
Posting Entries Begins: Wednesday Jan 3th
Posting Ends: Wednesday, Jan 17th at 11:59 PM EST
Voting starts Thursday, January 18th
Voting end Thursday, February 1st at 11:59 PM EST

Yup, no changes this year. I have brought the suggestions from last year to Bill but he has been so busy with is move down south, OA Expo and expanded CAF interviews, sales act. He has not had the time to look into improving The Best of.

  • Faux Sugar and Spike #100 Cover by Kerry Callen
    • My year: Most Comments (5th), Most Likes (3rd), Most Views (2nd)
    • One of my very favorite pieces by one of the most clever humor artists working. The first time I tried, he wasn’t doing physical commissions, but he’s since changed his mind and is cranking them out. Highly recommended. Also, read his Super Antics which features DC Heroes in very funny situations.

  • Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Pets by Jim Shooter
    • I’m a fan. When I found out that Jim would do commissions, I had to get one (at least one for now). His run with Swan and Klein remains my favorite Legion era. And he was only 5 years older then my 8 or 9 when I read his first story. That blew me away. If you get a chance to meet him, do it. Look through his memory books. Ask questions. Get a commission. You’ll be glad that you did.

  • Mosely 1 pg. 26 and 27 by Sam Lofti (published Splash/Panel Page)
    • Mosely is yet another good book written by Rob Guillory. Sam did an excellent job with the visuals. In these pages, you see our hero gain his powers and deal with his first foe. Buy it, you will enjoy it.

    • I enjoyed Todd’s work on Impulse and Young Justice a lot and I love group shots. This scratched a real itch for me.
