I'm probably the only one that hasn't seen this one but it's a Liefeld / Mcfarlane and I never saw it  but it's a damn good first example. Vulture from ASM .

This doesn't bother me near as much as seeing a character show up on a cover but not in the book,for no reason at all other than to sell the book(Deadpool,Spider-Gwen,Harley Quinn,I'm looking at YOU).
