Negro Romance #4 is a bit of a weird book when you dig a bit deeper.

1.  It was published almost 5 years after Fawcett published #3.

2.  The entire book, save the cover, is a reprint of #2.

3.  The only thing original about #4 is the cover which is drawn as opposed to the first three which were photo covers.

I ask the question - why was this book even published?  Anyone know any details?

Interesting stuff. I wonder how Charlton got their hands on it. And why. Maybe they just wanted to see how it would sell. Most websites don't have it listed as being part of the regular series.

Comiclink sold one a few years back.

The most info I could find was from the nice folks at MCS. But it's not much.

it's Charlton.  They were smart, nimble, opportunistic.  Since they bought those lines from Fawcett and had the material to reprint - well then why not get Giordano to slap on a new cover and see if it sells?

and they got an answer - nope.  Otherwise, as sure as God made little green apples, there would have been a Negro Romance #5.

Bought the 6 from Harley at Torpedo Con last year. If I see another nice one I will give you a shout.
