Grading Restored comics

How does CGC recommend submitting Silver-age comic with double cover?  Especially when the inner cover is in visibly better condition than the outer cover?

Is there an enhanced collectible value to leaving the outer cover attached - or is it better to remove it??   Thank you.

Hello,

If you have a double-cover comic, we would suggest leaving this attached instead of removing it. Most double covers have a higher collectability to them. CGC will grade both covers and represent these grades on the label. Whichever book has a higher grade usually is the final grade the book receives. This is true as long as there are no additional defects on the interior of the book. That said, if one of the covers is restored it would be handled differently. Additionally, if the book was found to have a second cover added after the initial printing process this would be rejected. I hope this helps!

Regards,
