But if that were mine, I'd remove the "tiny rust speck, top staple" b/c there is no way that's restoration. I also don't think I'd get a conservation grade for doing that. But it sure would be safer for the book in long term. How? There are incredibly fine tipped tools these days used to remove tiny specks and the know how to use them. Think dentistry. Do you think DA has "tiny rust specks" on his books? I kid, I kid.

Do you think DA has "tiny rust specks" on his books? I kid, I kid. I thought the same thing as soon as I saw the notes. Get rid of that tiny rust speck with a razor blade or a scalpel or something. But the tiny rust speck could be rooted deep within the staple so you'd have to be real careful. If it didn't come right off I would go no further. Just watched a video of comic staple cleaning, big process.

To me, 26 is the more significant book than 27. Seriously? You even commented in his thread when he showed the run and he mentioned that the 26 was one of less than a dozen books to have the Church name written on it. I like looking at the pics of the NA 26 and 27, squinting slightly and imaging the Church Action 1 between them in the same condition... sfcityduck and adamstrange 1
