tflor1138
Hello everyone! I got my hands on these at a parking lot sale for about 5$ a piece and want your opinion. Are they worth the expenditure of pressing/grading? I’ve submitted a few comics for either sig series or personal attachment but I’ve heard these old comics are viewed a little differently regarding condition. Any input is appreciated. Thx! Bmattioli86
Unless it’s iron man #1… I wouldn’t bother pressing and grading. You won’t get your ROI but I do really like the cover on issue 3… a nice Mylar bag will do these raw copies wonders.

I have some cgc credit and thought about submitting that one as an experiment since I’ve never owned any silver aged comics. They only cost me 5$ a piece (bought because they looked interesting) so I don’t have much into them but I saw that they fall into a different tier/cost because of age. Make little art pieces to display in my man cave. Bmattioli86
evilskip
A nice deal on those. Not sure grading would be worth the time and money.
Q.N.S.
It looks from here that #3 and #5 are worth doing the C&P / slab if that's what you want to do. I was almost there with #9 but it has the sun-fade strip. If you look at the CGC census on these, I would draw the line at 7.0... although there are quite a few under that, it looks like around 7.0 is where I'd need to expect in order to do it. you could brush them off with a makeup pad, then scan those and put them up here for a consensus

That’s why I’m here. To see what the more knowledgeable people thing. I’ve never thought of the makeup pad trick and didn’t know scanning and posting was an option. It’s as much an experiment for me to see the results of pressing as an investment thing but I would at least like to break even. So I’ll probably brush off the best one and scan a “before” pic. Probably #3 because I really like the cover. I have some credit so I’ll be using house money. thx for the input!

tflor1138
If i do it, it'll be to get a "before" and "after" results for pressing. I just want to see if It makes a huge difference and hope that i can at least break even on the experiment.
