Is there an easy/simple way to know if I have posted in a thread without having to scroll though 15 - 50 pages to see.

Yes, it'll have a star next to the title instead of a circle (left of the title of the thread).

Well, there are actually two stars, so you're kind of right - the white star in the green circle means it's a "featured post." If there's a black star to the left of the post title, it means you've posted in the thread. If there's a black circle, it means you haven't.
