What was the first comic you completed buying off the stands?

Has to be at least a 50 issue run and you had to buy every issue off of the stands/comic store.

 

My first complete run off of the stands was marvel two in one.

For me all newstand/direct store runs occurred in the 80s.

It's kind of hard to hit the 50 issue mark...because I'll drop a book quickly as soon as it gets boring to me, plus some favorites didn't make it that far. .

Then for me it is a tie between Books of Magic and Animaniacs - both bought issue # 1 as it came on the stands and purchased the whole runs as they came out.

Off the stands/racks? I think my current record is about 10 consecutive issues.

Only about 5% of my collection was bought new, I am more of a back issue collector.

But get back to me when "52" is done.

I have alot of series that I started collecting from issue 1. The first I can think of was Blue Beetle(DC not Charlton).

Majority of these were bought from the same neighborhood store during the 50's & 60's. After the store closed I continued buying my books at local comic shops. Never missed an issue. Starting with the 1st issue of each to the last.
