Already JSA certified cards
2 2

I can see that CGC x JSA is now available on the submission form and an additional fee to authenticate a signature. I have some JSA certified cards I'd like to slab. Do I still need to pay for autograph authentication if already authenticated? Or is there at least a discounted fee?

Thanks,

James

Hello @Dan1jam, thank you for reaching out to us. Happy to help! You can indeed now submit cards with JSA-authenticated autographs for CGC grading and encapsulation! To provide an extra layer of scrutiny, JSA authentication and CGC grading fees apply for all resubmissions. We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this may cause you. Thank you again for reaching out to us and please let us know if we may assist you in the future!

This was the same question I had.  So to confirm.  If I have a card with a JSA sticker and separate cert.  Full price is needed to put that card into a CGC slab?  Full price of both grading the card and reauthenticating the autograph?  I would assume it would get an entirely new JSA cert number?  Can you guys remove the sticker off the card?  Seems silly to not have JSA stand behind their own certification.  I fully would expect an encapsulation fee.

Hi @Scottish Punk,

Thank you for reaching out. If these JSA signatures are done through the JSA WPP service ( JSA's Witness Protection Program 'WPP'). If your collectible is autographed AND has a JSA WPP sticker on it (meaning that it was originally witnessed by JSA through their WPP) you'd select “CGC Grading” as your submission type as well as “JSA Autograph Authentication” as an add-on service. JSA autograph authentication fees still apply because JSA must re-verify the authenticity of the autograph and JSA WPP sticker. If the autograph and the JSA WPP sticker are genuine, your comic will be encapsulated with the CGC Signature Series label, which will identify the signer’s name and the date signed, along with a notation that the signature was witnessed by JSA on that date as well in order to differentiate it as being witnessed through one of JSA's signings. We will not remove these stickers from the cards but it will also not impact the grade of the card. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Thank you and have a great day.
