I have this John Byrne Splash Page, I believe it's from Amazing Spider-Man #12 smile.gif

 

I also have this page by Mark Buckingham, from Peter Parker: Spider-Man #27

Actually if I had the money and was able to afford it I'd make you. seeing them makes me want them more.

Question - where does one find this OA for purchase? At some point in time, did people grab a bunch of this stuff for pennies, only to sell for thousands today?

 

Yes...and....no. Most (60%) of the pages in my collection I picked up from the artist...while the rest comes from comic art dealers as well as fellow collectors that are willing to let go of a page or two.

 

As for page costs....they can range from $25 to $15K+. It's all up to what yer looking for...almost all the Golden & Silver Age pages are in hands of dealers or private collectors. While Bronze Age is still widely available...just have to do some searching through sites (see below links).

 

A great place to start is at Bill Cox's site: ComicArtFans.com

This site has art dealer ads as well as listings by fellow collectors.

Hart - thanks for the info. Do you know of a place to acquire ASM cover art. I don't have thousands of $$$ to spend on OA, but hoping covers from the 1980's are more reasonable.

 

Any guesses? How about the newer stuff, where can you find that?
