Wasn't this the second occurrance of Empire? I thought it was under some creator-owned label that didn't succeed. A bunch of 70's and 80's super creators that formed until one new label. Then DC picked up Empire afterward.

Was originally under the gorilla imprint but the company went ape up frown.gif Was one of the best series i have ever read, wish they had done more with it. Monarch was a great baddy.
