Price/percentage relation over the grades ?

4 posts in this topic

Quick question here, I used to have an article on this but somehow lost it...

Is there a formula to know the guide-price for a book in the various grades once you know the NM price ?

I'm pretty sure GOOD is about 10% - 12% of the NM price, but what is the percentage for VF - F - and VG ?

I'm talking raw books here, maybe disregarding the keys...

I think the spread is about 1-3-9 for good-fine-near mint. The range will be much higher for keys. I think some Silver/Bronze keys have a range as high as 1-3-15.

Well my guess was right with Good being about 12% (or 1/9) of NM...

Thanks for the input, anybody have any ideas on how the spread would be concerning VF and VG ?

Something like this ?

NM 100%

VF 85%

F 30%

VG 20%

G 12%

And I agree with your comments on the key books, but I'm not taking the keys into account for this little exercise
