Post Your Marvel Bronze Age In-House Ads!

I always find it amusing when younger collectors say that "if I grew up in the 70's and 80's, I'd own a few longboxes of Hulk 181, ASM 129 and MS 5 books, not the CA and MA crepe I have now!!", without understanding the dynamics of collecting or their own lemming-like behavior.

The hot stuff was not the old books, but the very latest speculator fodder #1 issues. People forget that comics like The Micronauts (among many others) were marketed wildly and speculated on like mad, while all those old BA books gathered dust.

Don't believe me? Then check out this amazing string of Micronauts house ads:

Here's an interesting one for the BA historians. Remember the original Conan ad I posted early on?

Well, it turns out that was the second one, and after looking through some old books, I found this slightly different version that hit the shelves a month before:

Well, greggy has been PM'ing me to post more DC ads, so here goes. This one is classic, as it's not only greggy's favorite childhood toy, but also the pet name he used for his right hand:

There was a Master of Kung-Fu add from the late 70's I remember and always thought was cool. Shang-chi was in a fighting stance in what might have been shadows or something. I believe it had a red tone to it. I remember thinking it looked really cool, but I was a slave to the spinner rack at that age and could only get what I could find.

Anyone know the ad I'm talking about or may have a scan of it? I will do some looking in books I bought at the time and see if I can find it. I don't have a scanner though so I can't post it. I checked some MoKF ad's earlier in this thread and didn't see that particular one.

Hey! Ya, that's the one! (thumbs u I was just about to post that I found it in Shogun Warriors #1 from Feb of '78. Cut me some slack I was 7 and Shogun Warriors were cool then, heh.

Thanks Joe! Man, how cheesy is that "Action! Drama! Thrills!" blurb up there? Pic still looks cool though.
