Have added another piece to my FOR SALE Gallery on CAF:

This HUGE painting measures approx 28" x 20" and was used to publicize the old Charlton characters' re-appearance under the DC banner.

This stunning painting dates from the 1980s, by British artist John Higgins.

All FOR SALE items, in my CAF Gallery, now have re-adjusted asking prices.

Great Painting. Too bad they didn't do one for the Fawcett Character's they bought a decade or so before. Do you know what else that John Higgins has done?

John Higgins left his home in Liverpool at the age of fifteen. He went to the Far East and studied art in Singapore. On his return to England, he started painting pictures but became disillusioned with commercialism. He entered Wallasey Art College where he studied illustration. In 1990, he found his calling in illustrating science-fiction covers. Two years later, he co-wrote and illustrated 'World Without End', a full-color graphic novel for DC Comics of America. He also worked on one of Britain's most popular comic book characters, 'Judge Dredd'. For DC, John Higgins did several horror titles, such as 'Razorjack' and 'Hellblazer'.

And he was also the colorist on an obscure series called WATCHMEN . . .

I didn't recall seeing any of his Hellblazer work. Guess it is time to pull out my books and check them out.

Now, I know why the name sounds familiar. Colorist on Watchman. Thanks for the information.

Don't ever say that to Brian Bolland - he's fairly vocal about how much he disliked the colouring. Brian was originally going to be the colourist and in fact is credited as such on preview pages. I personally think his colouring worked very well on Watchmen.

I believe Higgins is now drawing Thunderbolt Jaxon (an old British character resurrected) , written by Dave Gibbons, part of the Albion titles, which Alan Moore lent his name to.
