My DC war slab collection took a bit of a beating over my incident

with my family so I spotted this Baby on a dealer's web-site

and just had to have it. :cloud9:

 

One payment down and one or two to go.

 

Look at the bright green colors on this beauty from the Africa

Korps.

I nearly forgot my first Mille Marie cover is enroute and I got a great deal

at 32.00. I wish it was higher grade, but I sure haven't seen many if any

at all in HG over the last couple of years. (shrug)

Great work!!! My gosh, what a jaw-dropping, gut wrenchingly killer copy of that GIC 71!!!! I LOVE that cover nearly as much as the 78! (and that's a LOT). Recognize the stamp as a copy coming from that Terry's Comics/Harley Collection.

Does that collection actually have a name?

Man, I'm going to have to revisit my own copy to get my fix after seeing that.

Oh, and the Mlle. Marie ain't nothin' to shake a stick at! Great book and so vastly underappreciated!

Yo, Troop! Great Quality book. Those are tough to get in grade. Is that a circle-8, ya think? That's one of the few collections that had a decent smattering of those in very presentable condition.

Thanks Mick and I thought I recognized the Stamp from somewhere

and the dealer didn't attach a name to the collection. There were some

Big Apple Pedigree DC war books floating around on some of the more

popular dealers' sites , but this isn't one.

 

Millie is awesome and I finally have a copy and I think this dealer/member

wasn't keeping up with her rise in prices, because on e-bay they seem to

go crazy at any grade near FN or above.

Funny - and true - EC war comics story.

 

I started dating the girl who would eventually be my wife back in 1987, when I was 18. One morning that summer, I was asleep in bed and my mom called from downstairs. She yelled up the stairs 'Brian, there's something special at the door for you!'

 

I ran downstairs, and there was my girlfriend... waiting for me with a big smile. But behind her on the front porch bench was a box from Russ Cochrane containing the slipcased sets of Two Fisted Tales and Frontline Combat that the postman had delivered earlier.

 

I ran right past my girl, and grabbed that box. I screamed 'FINALLY!'.

 

Much to her chagrin, I might add. And on some level, I'm still paying for that one.

I'm very sorry to take up a post in my favorite thread and I earlier

posted in the annoucement thread about some more bad news

that has hit me and I was sort of planning on selling my whole

collection of DC war books in a thread tomorrow at 14:30 PST.

 

I just tried to sell some other genre books and both of my computers

are acting up and I can't get pictures from my system into photobucket.

I need a new tower on one and a technician on the other one of which

I can't afford neither right now. I am :censored: and don't belong in this

game with my luck and this juggling act with my Husband still not

working due to his injuries and my recent other problems is taking it's

toll.

 

I was just going to contact one of the few dealer/members and ask them

to make an offer and I thought maybe you guys might have a better idea.

I would also like any of the books you guys might need or like in my

collection to go to you guys and the prices will be right.

Im really sorry to hear that.I know how much you love those books.I guess bad things do happen to good people.

You should list the books on the boards.Im sure you will get much more.
