actually four people have asked about the Batman 227 - a couple by PM - will get the scan made and out to all parties who have asked, but will go with the first one who asked, which i have to ascrtain as of yet

 

i have not yet figured out how to place a scan on the CGC boards - i think i follow the directions OK, but it does not take so far. <ostly i have sent in posts on comics history research to th eGOLD section.

 

I need to have your email address to send out any scans

 

also, is this what this forum is all about - straight lists for sale, rather than directing some one to a web site which takes up less space on this CGC board?

 

i surely want to play by what ever rules are in place

He's making it up. There's a billboard on the cover that says "... as Spain". If you move the S from Spain onto the previous word you get the [embarrassing lack of self control] pain.

reason why I initially posted web links was to make it easier for some one to scroll thru my stuff.

I took the intermediary word to mean no selling on consignment or auction type stuff: simply person to person, which i am very much in that category. I do not look upon myself as a comics investment house.

 

What i sell goes back into my comics research efforts, irregardless if there are still uneducated souls who deny the concept of a vibrant comics market which existed in America prior to 1933 and the beginning of the Famous Funnies format.

 

Kind of like the who deny that undergrounds ala Crumb, Shelton, Corben, Bode etc are not "real" comic books either.

 

Regading Daredevil 48, it has always been known as the "...as Spain..." cover right under Stiltman's rear end no less. John Verpooten snuck that in to circumvent the comics code back in the day.

 

Same goes for what he snuck into the cover of Ka Zar #1 25 cent edition Aug 1970: in the bushes he placed the four letter word F * * K in the branches. My, we have some uneducated comics people on this CGC board. All us old timers know both of these as they were written up in the fan press of the day, we used to call them fanzines. -:)

 

Got myBatman 227 out of its box, am going to be scanning that and other books tonight and send out the requested scans Sat morn.

 

Actually what i think i need is a web hosting site. any body have a suggestion as it a good one?
