Ok, here is a look at my Wolverine #1, front and back cover:

 

 

 

What do you guys think? I bought this comic and it went straight to the bag - never read other than a brief peek inside to check the pages out for any damage.

The scanner is an HP PSC 750xi, and its an amazing scanner (and cheap! I only paid $79 for it new!)

The books look like solid 9.4's for sure and could certainly grade higher.

 

However, I would hesitate to give out a 9.6 grade based only on a scan. Can't be done IMHO, as the defects that come into play at these grade points don't show up in a scan.

What kind of defects would come into play? The edges and corners are straight and crisp, the cover is still very glossy, inside pages are in pristine shape. Let me know what to look for

VERY nice copy! It has extremely sharp colors. But do you guys really think its a 9.6 even with the crease on the bottom right corner? If thats the case I'm sitting on 100+ copies of this book in 9.6 or better that need to be sent to CGC right away.

 

(I'd call it a 9.0/9.2)

9.4-9.6 for the front, but the back brings it down... Maybe 9.2 overall.

Not only a color breaking spine tick but the back is full on non color breaking creases on that Wolv #1...it wouldn't get higher then 9.0
