:bump:

A bump for those boardies and collectors here who are into low grade raw copies of Fox books like Wonderworld as Heritage has 19 issues of this run ending in their Monday evening auction tonight.  :gossip:

Highly doubt there's going to be any sort of a steal on a deal here as virtually all of them are already at multiples to condition guide from the cheapest one for now being this Poor condition copy of Wonderworld 27 at a paltry $60 including the HA juice:  :takeit:

Golden Age (1938-1955):Superhero, Wonderworld Comics #27 (Fox, 1941) Condition: PR....

to this VG listed copy of Wonderworld 5 currently sitting at a not so paltry $1,380 to this point in time with the Heritage BP juice in there:  :luhv:

Golden Age (1938-1955):Superhero, Wonderworld Comics #5 (Fox, 1939) Condition: VG....

I would definitely have been a lot more interested in some of these HTF Wonderworld books here, but sadly no Wonderworld 24 or 31, and the Wonderworld 22 which they have listed is only a rather weak Poor listed copy with a few too many significant defects to my liking.  :(

Wow, very cool run to land all at once. Strong prices for the grades overall! I remember tracking down a few of those oddball later issues back in the day. At this point I'm down to just my #7 and #12 -- but glad I kept those two.

Great covers!

Definitely some very strong prices here on these low grade Fox Wonderworld books as most of them sold for strong multiples to condition guide, but not as outlandish as what we saw with some of the pre-hero raw low grade copies of the DC Adventures and New Adventures earlier in this past Spring going for double digit multiples to condition guide.  :whatthe:

Then again, as a consignor, you certainly can't complain too much when it comes to a book like this one here which still managed to fetch pretty much 10X condition guide at $2,640:  :applause:

On the topic of strong prices for Fox books, any of you deep pocketed boardies here trying to snag this copy of Mystery Men 26 later tonight:  :luhv:

Golden Age (1938-1955):Superhero, Mystery Men Comics #26 (Fox, 1941) CGC FN+ 6.5 Off-white to white pages....

Not sure where it's going to finished up at, but already sitting at a very strong $7,800 with the Heritage BP juice or at something like well over 13X condition guide value and still not done.  :whatthe:  :applause:

$8,400, nice result.  And the 27 in 2.5 went for $3,120.

my hope is to one day have my heirs figure out what to do with my 48 lou/joe foxes, but i'm not beyond fantasizing about what an auction with all of 'em in there would do to my heart rate.

I am pretty sure only 47 of them would go to auction.

your dibs are 6th in line for the book.

Any hints here as to what this 48th book would be since it's always fun to play this guessing game?

Well, that's no fun in a guessing game when you give the answer to us right away, although I will definitely say you can NEVER EVER go wrong with an Allentown book, especially when it's an absolutely gorgeous copy like your little beauty here.  :cloud9:

Just checked the CGC census and your Allentown copy here is still the single highest graded copy to date after all these long years.  Even more noteworthy considering the number of different pedigree copies of this particular book out there, with both the Church and Carson City coming in at a very close CGC 9.0 and the Larson and Windy City copies quite a bit further down in the next tier at only CGC 5's and 6's.  :applause:

Unless it was the above mentioned Carson City copy, I also remember seeing another stunning HG copy of Mystery Men 1 on display at the Diamond Galleries grand opening back in the mid-90's.  Can't remember off the top of my head, but it might actually have been the Denver copy because there was a blazing yellow Denver copy of Green Mask 1 also on display in the main viewing room.  Hard to beat a Fox #1 trio since the display case also featured this Larson copy of Fantastic Comics 1 with this rather 3-D like Samson almost seemingly busting right out of the bright fiery red cover when you actually see this copy in real life:  :luhv:
