Heard on the radio this morning that Heath Ledger (of Brokeback Mountain fame - among others) is going to play The JOKER in the next Batman movie?

 

God I truly hope they're playing around - I just don't see that as any kind of good fit at all. Could be wrong.

From what I understand, it's not official as of yet really. We'll have to wait and see, I'm sure he'll do fine if it's him playing the part.

I think he is a much better actor then most people give him credit for. The Four Feathers changed my opinion of him entirely.

 

With a new, younger batman, it was only a matter of time until his archnemesis was revamped for the younger generation as well.

Good point! I totally agree he's a good actor - no issue there...just doesn't strike me as The Joker type.

You would be surprised what facial prosthetics and makeup could do. Crispin Glover would have made a good one, since I think he has one oar out of the water anyway. But still, Heath just might do a good job. Just depends on how he goes about playing the Joker.

Robin Williams is too fat to play the Joker, So was Jack Nicholson.

I think it all depends on how Nolan and co. are planning on portraying the clown prince of crime. But Ledger is definately one of the better young actors out there. And can pull off a variety of "types". A good fit for a younger joker methinks.
