John Byrne of course is my first thought...HOWEVER, Jim Lee's work is superior and I have yet to see anybody "out pencil" him...his work is clean and awesome!

 

And yes, I grew up thrilled with alot of other artists like Romita, Miller, Streinko, Perez, etc...but I havent seen anybody flat out just DRAW better!
