Just when you put the kibosh on purchases for awhile

No less than 5 stellar books that I'd snap up in a second -- had I not placed the moratorium on big purchases -- have shown up in various places.

Curious how often that happens to other folks, cause it sure happens to me a bunch.

that's why i keep an exception list...

whenever i decide to cut back on spending for a bit, as you note, something big always pops up...so i keep an exception list...2 or 3 items only...that are not bound by the spending cut back.

I already sicced someone on one of 'em. =) But being that I don't collect that particular title, pedigree or no, it was probably last on the list.

That eases the mind a good deal, when you can help find the book another good home and take it off of the market and out of mind. insane.gif

It's like the Murphy's Law of collecting..."when you least likely to purchase, it will come up for sale."

Closely followed by the other Murphy's Law of collecting... "when your least likely able to afford it, 2 grails will come up for sale."

I agree, you shouldn't even look, you'll just drive yourself nuts.

All too true.

Best avert, so what books are we talking about by the way??

Oh and incidentally while there have been some keen prices being reached lately, there have been a few bargains going on some key books as well...hiatus away lads!
