Spine wear

I'm sure all of you have dug through $0.50 bins where only half the comics are bagged. When you turn unbagged books to look at the edge of the spine, it is white at the edge (probably from rubbing on the box).

 

Now I'm assuming there used to be color there, so how should factor this into grading when the book is virtually NM except for this spine edge wear?

 

I can post pictures, but I'm sure you guys get the gist of my question.

Depending on the severity of the spine wear, it has to knock it down into the VF range-7.5 to 8.5. This would be light spine wear, IMHO.
