Here's a handful of pedigree FFs that were part of my former run.  A couple of the Pacific Coast collection books were bought raw in the days before CGC:

Beautiful books.  Did the PCC books come with a certification of authenticity and did you have to send it in when the books were slabbed?

Not a certificate, but a label specially created by Pacific Coast Comic Exchange attached to each mylar sleeve.  Plus, I had (and still do) the original invoice from PCEI identifying the books as from the 'Original Owner' collection, as the pedigree was first referred to when they first brought it to market.

Here's the one and only that I have a scan for, but identical labels were on the FFs and all the other SA Marvel runs:

I was curious about whether - in the "early days" - they also threw stuff away if you sent it in with the books.

I submitted a few dozen pedigree comics prior to 2010.  In most cases, the certificates, labeled pieces of mylar, and invoices sent in as confirmation were returned.  But on one occasion that I can remember, the company left the pedigree designation off of one of its encapsulated labels.

Today’s book.

This was purchased mail-order, sight unseen. The Comic Heaven catalog listed a VF and a NM. I paid for the VF, and received this. Mail order being what it was, I was fairly certain that they had sent the NM, so I called to let them know.

They said “keep it.”  :x
