Yep, I normally shun all pence copies, but this one just looks good in any currency

I picked up the Boston SS from Pym and Harley Yee was kind enough to handle the transaction for us. I had failed in aquiring this book several times. This time, I was fortunate. I did not pick this book up as an investment. I think my childrens children would have to sell it in order to make a profit! I have always wanted a nice copy of this book and I'm extremely happy with this one.

 

 

So now up for sale @ $30,000... I think this title is moving on up

The August Clink focussed auction held some big results for Surfer books. And all the big books on offer from were from Zilaf4's 'Firelake collection'.

Moving his selling venue from Ebay to the clink.

 

It is worth noting that when looking at the prices, it seems the quality of the books definitely won over, and was reflected in the final bids. With exceptional examples reaching GPA breaking prices!

Typically the first 7 square bound issues have claimed all the big prices in the past, but here the Firelake collection has not excelled in condition, and the stunning later issues have captured collectors attention....

Right on a Surfer thread. I have trouble thinking of his early appearances in FF as crossovers as they were easily pre his own title.

 

Great Surfer cover that I didn't see on this thread, the second FF movie was based on this issue.

Second part of the story, Surfer wasn't on the cover.

The current clink auction with 3 days to go... just plain scary.

 

I bought one of these 2 years ago,and umm, and err'd over it for days. Was it too expensive ($600), was a good enough copy (OW, with good registration)... and now I see this....

 

$3,100 with 3 days to go
