Heroes TV show

I'm not a prude, but don't really need the soft porn ... especially right off the bat ... wife didn't go for it ... my 14 year old and 10 year old boys could have ... but they don't need that either ... the fact is what is on tv is in your living room so would I want a woman in our living room moaning and groaning ... no, well maybe ... just kidding ... NO... so of course have to switch the channel back and forth ... which distracts from the show ... the point being sexuality is something akin to variant covers which almost killed the comic hobby ... and does the same for TV ... why

 

The bulk audience is family viewers ... there fore ... a little edgey is good, but when it takes center stage ... a quality show with good writing and story line is already on the way to jumping the shark ... hopefully the gimmick stuff ... that is the extremism will pull back ... the show will settle down into a rhythm and then from time ... there will be a little edgey ... but that will take a backseat to good story telling and character development ...

 

and of course we add the druggie onto the stripper ... and of course we are well on our way to normal people getting powers ... not ... how about really normal people like the guy driving the truck on the interstate ... or the overweight lady like Fat Momma working at the Wal Mart ... no no ... we've got a stripper and a drug addict artist ... who have super powers ... go figure ... that's not my idea of normal people getting powers

 

loved the japanese fellow ... getting powers ... but he wasn't my idea of normal either ...

 

loved the cheerleader ... but again she isn't my idea of normal either ...

 

which leaves us with the most normal individual actually in my opinion is the politician brother ... who may just be the one who can fly? or does it take both brothers to fly? or is the politician the one who can fly ... and the younger brother actually has a psychic connection to his brother which is why he thought he could fly ... but it was actually his older brother?

 

Comments on the brother thing? Good cliff hanger ending ...

 

and will watch again ... with my TVGUARDIAN and channel flicker to delete the soft porn ...

 

again ... a good show doesn't make it on soft porn ... it will survive or die on good story lines and character development ... don't get me wrong a little edgy is good ... but it should not be the main course ... my opinion of course ... and why families can't watch TV anymore or commercials either for that matter ....

Only got to see the second half hour, so I missed whatever "intros" were shown. I think there's a rebroadcast tonight...

 

Plot needs to improve just a bit, although I understand that you want to hook everyone on all of the characters in the first show.

 

I'll watch another episode just to see Ali Larter, heck she's hot. But if the stories suck, I'll pass.

Soft porn? I must be jaded - a girl in her underpants on a bed does not equal soft porn. Jeez - there are underwear commercials that are more provactive that Ali Larter in her underwear. (not that she isn't good looking).

 

I don't want to get into a whole big 'what should and shouldn't be on TV' debate, but that scene was VERY tame IMHO.

I didn't see the full episode, I plan on watching it all tonight, but what I see that the show needs already is VILLIANS and not just the dad/step/adopted father of the one girl but SUPER VILLIANS!

 

How can you have Heroes without super villians? 70's Spidey movies anyone?

 

Plus, I thought it was kinda contrived that the girl stuck her hand in the disposal while it was running, not to mention a little disgusting.

Although I kinda liked the episode, I do agree that she must also have no pain receptors. Even Hugh Jackman showed some aversion to the pain that was inflicted upon him (which probably made him nutz)

I really enjoyed it and will be downloading it to watch again

 

I loved the Heroes comics when they came out

show taking shame approach.

 

Normal Joe gets powers stuggles to learn, come to terms with, and understand.

 

Maybe I should sell a set I got three...

Sadly, the cost of each episode may kill the show if it doesn't get immediate ratings.

 

It's repeating on both the SiFi and USA channels. I TIVO'd Vanish so im taping the pilot episode off SiFi.

 

i flipped back and forth last night, wish i knew about the encore in advance last night. foreheadslap.gifconfused-smiley-013.gif

Hey, I liked it too... a take on "realistic" heroes (like "Unbreakable"?) I wager? Not bad being Network TV and fortunately NO dumb costumes yet. I liked how some of the characters are already connected to one another.

 

Some 1st episode *spoilers* to follow <WARNING> 893whatthe.gif:

 

"Asian time-stopper/ teleporting comic nerd" - FUNNY.

 

"Regenerating cheerleader, (*spoiler*) my adoptive dad may be the villian girl" - COULD BE GREAT.

 

"Congress guy/ intern flying brother combo" - (*spoiler*) BEST TWIST.

 

"Single mom/ internet stripper 'mirror image evil twin' chick" - MOST ORIGINAL.

 

"Stoned artist, can tell the future w/ my art guy" - COOL MC GUFFIN TO HELP DRIVE THE SERIES.

 

... ah, I hope it sticks around for awhile without getting too hokey! popcorn.gif
