So, I watched Wife Swap.

 

Man, if there was ever a time when a graemlin of a woman cracking a whip was needed, this is that time! poke2.gif

 

dude it could be worse...my girlfriend insisted on "Gilmore Girls" makepoint.gif

I was only able to watch "Heroes" on commercial breaks tonofbricks.gif

What is it with you guys being forced to watch Chick Shows because of your wife/girlfriend...I mean, don't you have more than one TV? confused-smiley-013.gif

 

But anyway I liked the show and here are my comments:

 

Asian guy...hilarious, maybe the most amusing character.

 

Ali Larter...she is hot but could use some breast implants. And what exactly is HER power...I don't really get the "evil twin in the mirror" thing?

 

Invulnerable Cheerleader...cool, but the most far-fetched. First, as someone else mentioned, she obviously feels no pain whatsoever which is quite different from cellular regeneration. But along those lines, I don't quite buy her being so interested in all the self-mutilation "experiments"...seems more like something a 10 or 12 year old boy might do but certainly not a pretty teenage cheerleader!

 

Flying guy...good character, interesting brother relationship

 

Painting guy...his art looks like the work of Rob Liefield!

 

One last thing...how can they have a show about superheroes where NOBODY HAS SUPER STRENGTH!!!! sumo.gif

Just one TV in our place! Some nights I control the remote...other nights she controls it...I have to relent during Gilmore Girls because its like her favorite show.

I watch maybe 1 hr a day of television. No need to TiVo. Only one tv as my life does not revolve around it like most of America.

 

Just my defensive 2 cents.

 

Other than that, looks like a good show that I will catch some day.

No... a 20 year-old 19" does just fine for the hour or two of TV I watch each week.

Why does the debate always to turn this? The scene didn't bother me, but I wasn't watching it with kids either. It's not about the content, but when it's shown. This has nothing to do with being ashamed. If I wanted to see a show about strippers, there are better avenues. If network TV tries to compete with cable or the internet, it's going to lose. Come up with innovative storytelling and you don't have to come up with cheap tricks for the dateless geeks.

I wouldn't argue that the scene was inappropriate for small children. I was remarking about the use of 'soft porn.' Granted it can be a broad brush so I guess our definitions differ.

 

I think that is exactly who NBC is targeting this show to - the 'dateless geeks.' 893scratchchin-thumb.gif I really don't think it's a family time show. What with a girl that throws herself off of high standing platforms and shoves her hand down the garbage disposal. And the whole trick with pushing her rib back in. I would think most children to young for this show would already be in bed by 9pm anyway. No?

 

I'm sure many are up in arms about those scenes worried that children all over the country will immediately go out and try the stunts themselves (when did that start happening on a regular basis anyway?).

Sadly, the cost of each episode may kill the show if it doesn't get immediate ratings.

 

It's repeating on both the SiFi and USA channels. I TIVO'd Vanish so im taping the pilot episode off SiFi.

 

i flipped back and forth last night, wish i knew about the encore in advance last night. foreheadslap.gifconfused-smiley-013.gif

 

Actually I watched it on Tuesday.. it was good!
