Here is my copy of ST110 a presentable copy that I've owned for about 12 years.

Cover detached at bottom staple.

was the book manuactured with the cover partially detached or is this from heavy wear at the staple?

Bottom staple is detatched due to wear. looks like cover was pulled off at the staple., but the comic still presents very well kinda depressing. but at the time I paid $35.00 for it due to the bottom staple.
