PGM Amazing Spider-Man #34 CGC prescreen #3

Hi all,

 

This is book #3 from my stack of prescreens. Notes include spine stress, corner crunch bottom spine, color rub top edge and top spine. One interior page sticks out and has a crease? Do you think it makes the grade? 7.5 prescreen.

In my view, it's a stretch but not impossible.

 

I would probably give this a 7.0 due to the top and bottom spine issues. Also the URC apears to be rounded.

Wow, Dan..you found about as close a call as possible IMO...

The two spine corners are the biggest concerns....the rest of the spine is nice...

 

I'm going to say it just eeks out the 7.5....

Don't believe so. Are you referring to the halo-effect on the back cover? Does anyone know what causes that?

Yep . . . the colored inks on the back page of newsprint are "bleeding oil" onto the inside back cover . . . and leaving that characteristic stain pattern. This is one of the reasons we use microchamber paper between the newspint and the cover stock.

I agree. It's right on the cusp. You're right to be questioning it, Dan; it's not a sure thing or an automatic disqualification.

Looks like it made it. Though with the page quality it isn't going to be worth my money. I didn't think the pages were tan to off-white. Except for the page sticking out...
