But didn't you know that Superman is the very first DC comic book series? Plus the book looks almost like a Very Fine.. And Very Fine guide is almost $1200.

 

Besides... CGC 4.0 VG+'s are very rare. In fact this may be the first I've ever seen.

 

And lets not forget... now that the Superman movie is no longer in theaters this book is bound to skyrocket in value any day now.

 

All-in-all I think you are looking at a bargain..

also, this seller had this listed at a low staring price, and the book had been bid up to around $180, then he ended that auction, and relisted it with the ridiculous 2k, asking price,

That book was in the August Heritage auction. I'd have bid on it, but the dust shadows are really distracting.

It's actually a very nice looking 4.0. I think I would have set an opening bid of $250, with no reserve.

Don't know what it is, but #18 is absolutely a dust shadow magnet (even by the standards of white-cover GA books). Especially in the lower grades, I swear I see more #18s with dust shadows than without.
